• Dr Gerhardt is a specialist freelance in Work-Based Learning and an active research and publishing academic, teaching across several international universities. Prior to academia, he had a background working in the third sector as a community leader, strategist, curriculum and programme development and CPD officer. He has held positions as an associate professor, programme director, project and academic lead, and director of studies. He has a national and international recognised specialism in work integrated learning (WIL). Dr Gerhardt is a TEDx speaker, a network convenor for the Working Life and Learning Network of the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA), a Regional Editor for the Higher Education, Skills and Work-Based Learning Journal, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has his own YouTube channel and runs a WIL podcast.
