IN MEMORY OF RUTH HELYER

ARCHIVED MESSAGE

September 2019

We have recently heard about the loss of our colleague and Work and Learning Network Committee member Professor Ruth Helyer. Many condolences to her family at this difficult time.

The following announcement was sent out by UALL:

UALL was saddened to hear the news today that Professor Ruth Helyer, a valued colleague and friend of the organisation and the Work and Learning Network, has recently passed away. She will be greatly missed. A Professor of Work Based Learning at Leeds Trinity University, Professor Helyer was dedicated to the commitments of our Work and Learning network and hosted the network and advised on its future role for many years. Her vision to support new practice and the investment in new practitioners within work-based learning and apprenticeship provision will continue to inform our network's vision and mission. Professor Helyer has been the editor-in-chief of the Higher Education Skills and Work Based Learning Journal and her comprehensive research and practice in the field of work-based learning and professional practice within higher education has been of outstanding value.

Please also see the UVAC announcement here.

We will keep the network membership updated through UALL about sending commemoration for Ruth.
